Description
Savvy promoter William Killingsworth waited for the boom after the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition to promote his new Walnut Park development and its streetcar service to downtown every 6 minutes. He promised his middle class buyers it would soon become the Brooklyn of the west, and today it is one of Portland’s most cherished streetcar era neighborhoods.
